Pilates

Pilates is disciplined and physical fitness programme, designed to strengthen the soft tissues of the body (muscles, ligaments and joints).  

 

Pilates involves a series of very controlled, slow, concentrated movements performed with the help of a spring resistance machine.  The aim of this resistance exercise s to lengthen and strengthen the muscles group by group.  

 

Pilates also utilises mind-body techniques like visualisation to enhance the physical methods, leading many to term this system ‘yoga with machines’.
